HD Hyundai has delivered an 18,000 dwt bulk carrier to HL Lines featuring revolutionary AI systems for unmanned engine room operation. The HiCBM system monitors main engines, auxiliaries, and pumps using AI to predict failures before they occur. Complementing this, the HiCAMS platform uses onboard CCTV with AI vision to detect safety incidents in real-time. Paradigm shift: This marks the first commercial deployment of fully AI-monitored engine rooms, potentially eliminating the need for continuous human presence in machinery spaces.
